Thriftique is a nonprofit thrift store in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh — a social enterprise of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), Pittsburgh Section. Since our founding, every sale has gone straight back into programs that support women, children, and families across the region.

A grassroots organization, inspired by Jewish values
NCJW Pittsburgh Section is a volunteer-powered organization that turns progressive ideals into action. Guided by Jewish values, we work for social justice by improving quality of life for women, children, and families, and by defending individual rights and freedoms. Thriftique — and every retail effort we run — exists to fund that mission.
Shoppers come to our Lawrenceville storefront for the same reason bargain hunters have for decades: a well-curated rack of gently used clothing, furniture, and housewares at prices that don't hurt. What makes Thriftique different is where the money goes. Instead of enriching shareholders, every dollar of profit is reinvested directly into NCJW's community service programs and advocacy work here in the Pittsburgh region, with a particular focus on women's economic independence and security.

Three programs — funded in large part by Thriftique sales — carry NCJW Pittsburgh's mission into courtrooms, career centers, and closets across the city.
Children's Rooms in the Courts
Offer safe, free childcare to parents and guardians who must attend to legal matters at the courthouse, with a meal, a snack, and a book to take home.
Suit Yourself
Gives vouchers to clients re-entering the workforce, providing proper interview and work attire after graduating from recovery and job-readiness programs.
